Philly food is so much more than cheesesteaks. Let us show you.
A few weeks ago, we gave you a first look at the 12th annual Brewer’s Plate, which will take place on Sunday, March 13 at the Kimmel Center – and this year, there will be three starting times for attendees. General admission will be allowed into the event at 6:30, while VIP will gain entrance at 5:30, and new-this-year’s VIP Plus will open at 4:30. VIP Plus is being billed as a “pre-festival beer-driven culinary extravaganza” featuring Victory Brewing’s founder and head brewer Bill Covaleski and guest Brewer Zach Bodah of Allagash Brewing. The two brewers will team with chefs from Village Whiskey, Olde Bar, and Garces Events in the Hamilton Garden at the Kimmel Center to compete to pair their beers in three categories: seafood, meat, and sweets. The two breweries will also be offering their wares during the regular event for anyone unable to snag a VIP Plus ticket.
There will also be plenty of great pairings from other places around the city. Food will be provided by the likes of Alla Spina, Bar Ferdinand, Cedar Point, City Tap House, Devil’s Den, El Camino Real, Good Dog, Good Spoon Soupery, Guerilla Ultima, High Street on Market, Misconduct Tavern, Revolution Taco, Russet, SPTR, Belgina Cafe, Varga Bar, Vegan Commisary, Whetstone Tavern, and a host of others.
The quality bars and restaurants will be pairing their offerings with beer, cider, and spirits from 2SP Brewing, 2nd Story, Barren Hill, Brooklyn, Cape May Brewing, Dock Street, Dogfish Head, Evolution, Forest & Main, Free Will, Neshaminy Creek, Nodding Head, Philadelphia Distilling, Sly Fox, Spirit Forward, Stoudt’s, Troegs, Vault, Weyerbacher, Yards, and many more. For a full list of the participants, be sure to check out the Brewer’s Plate website.
VIP and general admission tickets are still available here, so be sure to get them while you can. This really is the best food and beer event in the area, so don’t miss out on it. If you’ve been before, you know how great the event is. If you haven’t yet been, there is no time like the present to get started. If you enjoy eating or drinking, you won’t find many better events that Brewer’s Plate to do just that.
