Philly food is so much more than cheesesteaks. Let us show you.
The first big food event of 2016 is so far scheduled for Tuesday evening, February 16 from 6:30 – 9:00 at the Philadelphia downtown Marriott. Philly Cooks , which is put on by Foobooz and Philadelphia Magazine to benefit The Food Trust, will feature the best Philadelphia chefs as picked by the editors of Philly Mag.
Until December 31, earlybird tickets will be available for $80 (with a $2.99 service fee), and after the new year tickets will run $95 (with a $3.37 service fee). Be sure to get your tickets early—they’ll make a great Christmas gift—to save money and to make sure you’ll be able to meet and eat from a pretty impressive lineup of chefs.
If you’re wondering whether the ticket price is justified, just take in for a moment a partial list of participating restaurants, as well as their place in Philly Mag’s most recent 50 Best Restaurants in Philadelphia: Laurel (1), Helm (10), Bing Bing Dim Sum (8), V Street (12), Cheu Noodle Bar (15), The Farm & Fisherman (34), High Street on Market (24), Bud & Marilyn’s (20), Brigantessa (31), Volver (13), Townsend (5), Bistrot La Minette (45), and Fitler Dining Room (23). And that’s probably just about half of the participants listed.
You can get your earlybird tickets, as well as a full list of participants, at the event’s website phillymag.com/phillycooks. Be sure to check back with EatYourPHL for any event updates that may be announced in the next two months.
